Job summary

St Vincent College in Gosport is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our team. You will support 200+ young people aged 16-25 with moderate and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, helping with education, wellbeing and progression into adulthood.

This is a permanent, term-time role (37 weeks) on a Support Staff Scale Point 21 scheme, salary £17,929.25 (£24,654 FTE). Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.40am–4pm.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade C (Level 4) in English and Maths, or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of supporting students with SEND/SEMH preferred.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and Prevent guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Support learning for 200+ students aged 16–25 with SEND in the college.
  • Assist with education, emotional well-being and preparation for adulthood.
  • Work with both specialist college and mainstream provision for diverse needs.

The salary is £17,929.25(This is based on a £24,654 FTE)

We have exciting opportunities available for an experienced and highly motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our team within the college.

The College provides specialist education and support for 200+ young people aged 16-25 with moderate and complex learning difficulties and disabilities.

In addition, we support students within our mainstream provision that have additional learning needs such as ASC, and/or social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

Working with students you will form a key part of the range of services to support their education, emotional well-being and preparation for adulthood.

Ideally, you should:
  • Be well motivated, passionate and well organised
  • Have significant knowledge of Safeguarding and Prevent
  • Have prior experience of supporting students with SEND and/or SEMH
You will have:
  • Have minimum Grade C (Level 4) passes in English and Maths, or equivalent qualification
