Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking Specialist Teachers of Cognition and Learning to join the Specialist Teaching Service, supporting learners aged 5–19 with cognition and learning needs. You will provide specialist assessment, advice and training, and work with families, schools and partner agencies to improve outcomes.

Successful applicants will hold QT S with experience in SEND, and are expected to contribute to Education Health and Care plan processes, records, and service development.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status with evidence of professional development in Cognition and Learning.
• Desirable Level 7 qualification related to Cognition and Learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, advice, consultation, training and support to school staff.
• Manage a caseload and contribute to EHC needs assessments and annual reviews.
• Develop inclusive practice and evaluate evidence-informed interventions.
• Maintain records and contribute to service development and resources.
