Job summary

CK Group are recruiting for a Chemist to join a multinational manufacturer of coatings and sealants at their site located in Shildon, County Durham, on a 3-month contract initially, however this is likely to extend further. This role is fully site based in Shildon.

Salary: £16.40 per hour PAYE. You will participate in development of new products, provide advice and recommendations to other departments and customers to assist in solving potential problems and queries, engineer/modify existing

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant scientific degree or equivalent working experience.
• Scientific knowledge, particularly in chemistry.
• Ability to formulate coatings/sealants preferred.
• Excellent problem solving skills and communication.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development of new products.
• Provide advice and recommendations to other departments and customers to assist in solving potential problems and queries.
• Engineer/modify existing products to meet customer requirements.
• Make decisions regarding adjustment and release of production batches, raw material selection and substitution and modification of internal product specifications.
• Meet with suppliers to discuss new materials or problems with existing materials.
• Support quality department in resolution of customer complaints.
