Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking graduates to join its Ports, Coastal and Offshore team as Coastal Scientists. The role involves a wide range of technical tasks from coastal erosion studies to climate risk assessments, with opportunities to develop in project management, business development and sustainability in marine environments.

Applicants should have a Masters in coastal science or oceanography and less than 12 months of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Contribute to coastal erosion and flood risk feasibility studies.
Develop coastal management plans, strategies, and business cases.
Conduct flood risk and coastal erosion options studies.
Perform climate risk and vulnerability assessments.
Support design and planning for offshore and marine renewables, including hazard mapping and cable burial risk assessments.
Carry out GIS mapping, spatial analysis and coastal data interpretation.
Engage in coastal numerical modelling and metocean studies.
Explore marine nature-based solutions and stakeholder engagement.
