Job summary
Mott MacDonald is offering a graduate Coastal Scientist position across Bristol, Croydon and Newcastle. The role develops your skills in coastal processes, modelling and planning while you start your three-year Accelerating your Future development programme.
You will join our Ports, Coastal and Offshore team to gain experience in feasibility studies, climate risk assessment and stakeholder engagement while working on diverse projects globally and within the UK.
Qualifications
- Less than 12 months' relevant experience (excluding placements)
- Master's degree obtained no earlier than 2025 or expected
- Discipline: Oceanography
Responsibilities
- Coastal erosion and flood risk feasibility studies
- Development of coastal management plans including strategies and business cases
- Flood risk and coastal erosion options studies
- Climate risk and vulnerability assessment
- Support design and planning for offshore and marine renewable developments
- GIS mapping, spatial analysis and coastal data interpretation
- Coastal numerical modelling and metocean studies
- Marine nature-based solutions
- Stakeholder engagement
