Job summary

Mott MacDonald in the UK is seeking a Coastal Scientist graduate to join our Ports, Coastal and Offshore team. You will work on coastal erosion and flood risk feasibility studies, coastal management plans, and climate risk assessments, developing skills in coastal modelling, GIS and data interpretation.

The role offers a pathway to grow through project delivery, business development and sustainability work, with a masters degree in coastal science or oceanography preferred and less than 12

Qualifications

Less than 12 months of relevant experience (excluding placements).
Masters degree obtained no earlier than 2025 or expected in related disciplines.
Disciplines: Coastal science or Oceanography.

Responsibilities

Coastal erosion and flood risk feasibility studies
Development of coastal management plans including strategies, business cases and adaptation plans
Flood risk and coastal erosion options studies
Climate risk and vulnerability assessment
Support design and planning for offshore and marine renewable developments including hazard mapping and cable burial risk assessments
GIS mapping, spatial analysis, and coastal data interpretation
Coastal numerical modelling and metocean studies
Marine nature-based solutions
Stakeholder engagement
