Job summary

Platinum Recruitment Consultancy in Torquay is seeking an experienced Reception Manager for a family-run hotel with cliff-top views and private beach access. The role covers the busy front desk, guest bookings, and coordinating with other departments, with 40 hours per week and weekend shifts.

Live-in options may be available; on-site parking, meals on duty, and a welcoming, home-from-home working environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or front office management experience.
• Experience in family-run or independent hotels is advantageous.
• Sales, revenue and reservations knowledge.
• Guestline/Rezlynx experience is desirable, training can be provided.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily front desk activities
• Ensure guest enquiries, bookings and telephone calls are handled effectively
• Support the team with booking procedures to maximise room sales and revenue
• Check guests in and out, alongside restaurant, bar and lounge bookings
• Ensure the front desk remains presentable and appropriately staffed
• Work closely with other departments to provide accurate reports and information
• Complete daily banking and reconcile floats
• Maintain strong knowledge of Hotel services, facilities and the local area
• Support your team to maximise room revenue in line with company standards
