Job summary

Community Integrated Care seeks an Involvement, Impact and Accessibility Specialist to create meaningful, accessible opportunities for people we support, families and advocates to participate and influence improvements.

You will lead engagement and co-production activities, ensuring communications are inclusive and accessible. The role spans audits, design of Easy Read content, and collaboration with Operations, Quality, Health and Marketing teams across England and Scotland.

Qualifications

• Experience creating clear and engaging content for different audiences.
• Experience using written, digital, visual or face‑to‑face communication channels.
• Experience working sensitively with people with learning disabilities, autism, sensory impairments or other barriers to participation.
• Experience involving people with lived experience and families in developing or improving services, communications or engagement activity.
• Knowledge of accessible communication, including Easy Read, plain English and reasonable adjustments.
• An understanding of inclusive digital content and accessibility.
• An understanding of consent, confidentiality, safeguarding and the ethical use of people’s stories and images.
• Knowledge of adult social care, person‑centred practice and rights‑based approaches.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with people supported, families, advocates and Experts by Experience.
• Facilitate accessible engagement and co-production activities.
• Adapt communication methods and environments so people can participate meaningfully.
• Co-produce accessible information and resources with people supported and families.
• Create Easy Read, plain English, visual, audio and digital information.
• Identify adjustments such as large print, captions, BSL, interpretation, translation, symbols and assistive tech.
• Support people with lived experience to influence recruitment and learning.
• Ensure suitable preparation, support and recognitions and reasonable adjustments.
• Help people share experiences through stories, campaigns and events.
• Translate policies and priorities into accessible information and engagement opportunities.
• Gather and analyse feedback to identify themes and opportunities for improvement.
• Demonstrate to teams what has changed based on feedback.
• Develop accessible feedback loops and track You Said, We Did outcomes.
• Develop and test accessible communication with people supported to check understanding and usability.
• Provide practical guidance to colleagues on accessibility, inclusive communication and co-production.
