Job summary

Metalis Recruitment Group is supporting a Sheffield-based engineering company in hiring a CNC (VMC) Machinist. The role involves setting and operating CNC vertical milling machines, reading drawings and machining to tight tolerances.

You'll modify CNC programmes, perform set ups for repeat parts, run multiple machines and work a rotating shift pattern. Benefits include a company pension, cycle-to-work scheme, PPE and annual bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Experience in a steel machining environment.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and modifying CNC programs.

Salary: £17.00 - £21.00 per hour + shift premium

Metalis are working with a leading engineering company in Sheffield, who are looking for a CNC (VMC) Machinist to join their team.

Job Duties:

• Set and operate CNC vertical milling machines
• Read and work from engineering drawings
• Work to tight tolerances
• Modify and optimise existing CNC programmes, tooling offsets and machine parameters
• Carry out set ups for repeat parts
• Run multiple machines
• Maintain a safe and organised working environment by adhering to Health and Safety standards

Job Requirements:

• Apprentice Trained or relevant Engineering Qualifications (NVQ/HNC/HND/ONC)
• Experience within a steel machining environment
• Experience with CNC programs (running and modifying)

Salary, Shift & Benefits:

• £17.00 - £21.00 per hour + plus shift premium
• Rotating shifts - Monday to Thursday, 6am - 3:30pm (35 hours) & Monday to Thursday, 6pm - 6am (35 hours)
