Job summary

Venatu Consulting Ltd is recruiting an experienced CNC Milling Machinist Setter/Operator to join a modern precision engineering environment. You will set and run CNC milling machines to produce high-quality components across aerospace, automotive, motorsport and medical sectors.

You will read engineering drawings, interpret tolerances and select tooling, while maintaining safety and efficiency. The role offers regular overtime and excellent training in Heidenhain, Fanuc or Siemens controls and

• Experience as CNC Milling Machinist Setter/Operator or similar precision engineering role.
• Experience setting and operating CNC milling machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of tolerances and component inspection.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining quality standards.

CNC Milling Machinist Setter/Operator

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting experienced CNC Milling Machinist Setter/Operators to join a modern, well-invested precision engineering and advanced manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for skilled machinists looking to join an established business working with a diverse range of materials and producing high-quality components for demanding industries, including aerospace, automotive, motorsport, medical and nuclear.

The successful candidates will be confident setting and operating CNC milling machines, producing precision components to tight tolerances while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture precision components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and tolerances.
• Ensure components meet required quality standards and specifications.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as a CNC Milling Machinist, Setter/Operator or in a similar precision engineering role.
• Experience setting and operating CNC milling machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of engineering tolerances and component inspection.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining quality standards.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Heidenhain CNC controls.
• Experience with Fanuc and/or Siemens controls.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience machining a variety of metals and engineering alloys.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems, particularly Fusion or hyperMILL.
• An interest in continuous improvement and modern manufacturing practices.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm

Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm

40 hours per week, with regular overtime available.

Salary & Benefits

• £17.00–£22.00 per hour, depending on experience and skill set.
• Regular overtime paid at time and a half.
• Double time available on Sundays.
