Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment in Cobham is seeking an experienced CNC Turner Setter/Programmer to program, set and operate turning machines, producing precision components from exotic materials with demanding tolerances.

You will interpret engineering drawings and GD&T, select tooling, speeds and feeds, and conduct in-process inspections. The role offers regular overtime, training and development, a competitive salary and a supportive engineering environment.

Are you an experienced CNC Turner with strong programming, setting and operating skills, looking to work with exotic materials and manufacture complex components to extremely tight tolerances?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected engineering and manufacturing business producing precision components for demanding industries including aerospace, defence and oil and gas.

In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines within a high-specification manufacturing environment. You will work from engineering drawings and GD&T specifications, selecting the appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds to produce complex components from materials including Inconel, Titanium, Hastelloy and Duplex.

This position offers excellent technical variety, regular overtime opportunities and ongoing training and development within an established, growing engineering business.

The Role:

• Program, set and operate CNC turning machines to manufacture precision components
• Machine complex components to extremely tight tolerances, often measured in microns
• Work with exotic and high-performance materials including Inconel, Titanium, Hastelloy and Duplex
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and GD&T requirements
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds and machining strategies
• Conduct in-process inspections and troubleshoot machining or dimensional issues

The Person:

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC turning machinery
• Experience machining exotic materials and difficult alloys
• Ability to manufacture complex components to tight tolerances
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
• Knowledge of tooling, speeds, feeds and effective machining strategies
