Job summary

Holt Engineering is seeking an experienced CNC Turner – Setter/Programmer for its Andover workshop. You will program, set and operate Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes to tight tolerances, reading drawings and selecting correct tooling. The role includes first-off inspections and ongoing troubleshooting to maintain quality.

The successful candidate will have 2-axis turning experience, strong G-code/M-code knowledge and a keen eye for detail. Monday–Friday, permanent position with overtime options.

Qualifications

• Proven CNC Turner experience with Fanuc programming.
• Experience with 2-axis turning and reading engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming.
• Ability to select tooling and set work-holding to tight tolerances.

What you'll be doing

You'll be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines, producing precision components to engineering drawings and specified tolerances.

The role will involve:

• Programming, setting and operating Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes
• Programming using G-codes and M-codes
• Working with 2-axis CNC turning
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Selecting and setting tooling and work-holding
• Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections
• Troubleshooting machining issues and adjusting where required
• Machining materials including steel, aluminium and stainless steel
• Maintaining a clean and organised working area

What we're looking for

You'll need:

• Previous experience as a CNC Turner
• Fanuc programming experience
• Experience with 2-axis turning
• Good understanding of G-codes and M-codes

• Ability to read engineering drawings
