Job summary

Matchtech's client in New Milton, Hampshire, is seeking an experienced CNC Turner Programmer/Setter/Operator to join their precision engineering team. You will work on a range of parts from prototypes to medium batches, mainly aluminium and stainless steel, on Fanuc-controlled lathes.

You will program, set and operate CNC turning machines, read drawings to tight tolerances, select tooling, and conduct in-process inspections.

Qualifications

• Proven CNC Turner with programming, setting and operating experience.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc Oi-TC and I Series controls.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
• Experience machining aluminium and stainless steel.
• Proficient with precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines with Fanuc controls.
• Producing high-precision components to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Interpreting technical drawings, dimensions and geometric tolerances.
• Selecting appropriate tooling and machining methods to achieve required quality standards.
• Conducting in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Completing production and quality documentation accurately.
• Maintaining compliance with ISO9001 and AS9100 quality standards.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining housekeeping standards.

CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator

New Milton, Hampshire | £20 per hour | Monday to Thursday: 07:45 - 16:15 | Friday: 07:45 - 12:45

The Opportunity

A well-established precision engineering manufacturer supplying highly regulated industries is seeking an experienced CNC Turner Programmer/Setter/Operator to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist to work on a diverse range of components, from one-off prototypes through to medium batch production runs, predominantly machining aluminium and stainless steel materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC Turning machines with Fanuc controls.
• Producing high-precision components to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Interpreting technical drawings, dimensions and geometric tolerances.
• Selecting appropriate tooling and machining methods to achieve required quality standards.
• Conducting in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Completing production and quality documentation accurately.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner with programming, setting and operating experience.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc Oi-TC and I Series controls.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
• Experience machining aluminium and stainless steel.
• Competent in the use of precision measuring equipment.
• Manual machining experience.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Self-motivated with a flexible and proactive approach.

Desirable

• Knowledge of modern CNC machine tool maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience within aerospace, defence, nuclear, automotive or other precision engineering environments.
• Familiarity with AS9100 quality requirements.
