Cooper Lomaz Recruitment Services Ltd is recruiting an experienced CNC Turner to join a precision engineering team in Mere, Wiltshire. The role covers programming, setting and operating Fanuc-controlled lathes to produce high-precision components.

You will read engineering drawings, select tooling and carry out first-off inspections, with a permanent position and enhanced overtime on offer.

Qualifications

• Solid experience as CNC Turner / Programmer Setter Operator.
• Experience with Fanuc controls and lathe programming.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Aptitude for tight tolerances and high precision work.
• Experience in aerospace or precision engineering preferred.

Experienced CNC Turner - Programmer / Setter / Operator

Location: Mere, Wiltshire

Salary: £40,000 – £42,000 depending on experience

Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30am–4:45pm, Friday 7:30am–12:30pm

Contract: Permanent

An established precision engineering business is looking for an experienced CNC Turner / Programmer Setter Operator to join its team in Mere.

The company manufactures high-precision components for a range of industries, including aerospace, so accuracy, quality and attention to detail are essential.

The Role

You'll be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines, predominantly using Fanuc-controlled equipment.

The role will involve:

• Programming CNC lathes from engineering drawings
• Setting and operating CNC turning machinery
• Producing high-precision components to tight tolerances
• Selecting tooling and setting machine offsets
• Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections
• Reading and working accurately from engineering drawings
• Making programme adjustments where required
• Maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship
• Working efficiently while meeting production requirements

About You

We're looking for someone with solid experience as a CNC Turner / Programmer Setter Operator who is confident working with Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes.

You’ll ideally have:

• Proven CNC turning experience
• Strong Fanuc programming experience
• Experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience working to tight tolerances
• A strong understanding of tooling, offsets and machining processes
• Good attention to detail and quality
• A reliable, self-motivated approach to work

Experience within precision engineering or aerospace would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
