Job summary

3Sixty Talent Management Ltd is seeking an experienced CNC Turner / Programmer for a precision engineering business on a permanent late shift. You will write new CNC programmes from scratch at the machine for 2-axis turning, set and operate with minimal supervision and drive components from drawing to finished parts.

The role features a four-day working week (Mon-Thu) with Fridays off, late-shift premium, and a robust benefits package including pension and healthcare.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating 2-axis CNC turning machines.
• Able to write CNC programmes from scratch at the machine.
• Strong knowledge of G-code programming.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, tolerances and inspection.
• Experience producing one-off and low-to-medium volume components.
• Experience working with hard and soft metals.
• Able to edit and optimise existing programmes.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Take components from engineering drawing through to finished product, including programming, setting, tooling, machining and inspection.
• Set up machines and fixtures for production.
• Edit and optimise existing programmes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure quality by adhering to drawings and tolerances.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

3Sixty Talent Management are recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner / Programmer to join a well-established precision engineering business.

This is a CNC programming role, not a setter/operator-only position. You must be confident writing new CNC turning programmes from scratch at the machine, as well as setting and operating with minimal supervision.

The Role

Working on an established late shift, youll benefit from a four-day working week, with every Friday off.

Shift times:

• Monday to Wednesday: 4.30pm 3.30am
• Thursday: 4.30pm 1.00am
• Friday: Day off

Youll be responsible for taking components from engineering drawing through to finished product, including programming, setting, tooling, machining and inspection.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating 2-axis CNC turning machines
• Able to write new CNC programmes from scratch/long-hand at the machine
• Strong working knowledge of G-code programming
• Confident completing full machine set-ups from engineering drawing to finished component
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, surface finishes and inspection
• Experience producing one-off and low-to-medium volume precision components
• Experience working with a range of hard and soft metals
• Able to edit and optimise existing programmes
• Quality-focused, self-motivated and comfortable working with minimal supervision
