Job summary

WF Tech in Oldbury is seeking an experienced CNC Turner Programmer to join our precision engineering team. You will program, set and operate Fanuc turning machines to produce high-quality components for small to medium batches.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, selecting tooling, and performing first-off inspections with micrometers and bore gauges. We offer a permanent role with a competitive rate, pension, sick pay, and a bonus scheme.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Experience machining precision components to tight tolerances.

• Produce precision components in batch sizes ranging from 1-offs through to 100-offs.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Select and install tooling, making offset adjustments where required.
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using measuring equipment.
• Machine components to tight tolerances of 20-30 microns.
• Monitor machine performance and make programme or tooling adjustments to maintain quality.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Work closely with the production team to meet quality and delivery targets.

Location: Oldbury

Salary: £17.00 - £18.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30pm | Friday: 7:30am - 12:30pm

About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner Programmer to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Oldbury. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist looking to join a stable business producing high-quality precision components in small to medium batch quantities.

You’ll be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines using Fanuc controls, ensuring components are manufactured to exact customer specifications while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
