Job summary

Streamline Search is representing a specialist precision engineering business seeking a skilled CNC Programmer Setter Operator to join their team. They manufacture high-quality, precision components for demanding industries.

You will program, set and operate Mazak CNC lathes and machining centres, read detailed drawings, select tooling and machining conditions, and write CNC programs. The role requires a strong quality focus and ISO 9001:2015 experience.

Qualifications

• Experience programming, setting and operating CNC machines.
• Experience with Mazak CNC machinery preferred.
• Ability to read detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
• Experience in ISO 9001:2015 quality-controlled environments.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate Mazak CNC lathes, machining centres, or both.
• Read and interpret detailed customer drawings and specifications.
• Determine the most effective machining methods and processes for each component.
• Write and edit Mazak and ISO CNC programmes.
• Select tooling, cutting inserts and machining conditions.
• Carry out first-off inspections to ensure components meet the required specification before production runs.
• Create, store and maintain CNC programmes.
• Review works orders and work instructions to ensure machining requirements are understood.
• Monitor production quality and ensure components meet specifications.
• Work to agreed production and run times with high quality.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve production methods and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Adhere to ISO 9001:2015 procedures.

CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator - Lathes & Machining Centres

We're looking for an experienced CNC Programmer Setter Operator to join a specialist precision engineering business. Our client is a well-established engineering manufacturer producing high-quality, precision components for a range of demanding industries.

What's on offer

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 DOE

Hours: Monday to Thursday (7:00 - 16:00) & Friday (7:00 - 12:00)

Key responsibilities

• Program, set and operate Mazak CNC driven-tool lathes, machining centres, or both.
• Read and interpret detailed customer engineering drawings and specifications.
• Determine the most effective machining methods and processes for each component.
• Write and edit Mazak and ISO CNC programmes.
• Select appropriate tooling, cutting inserts and machining conditions.
• Carry out first-off inspections to ensure components meet the required specification before production runs.
• Create, store and maintain CNC programmes.
• Review works orders and work instructions to ensure machining requirements are fully understood.
• Monitor production quality and ensure components consistently meet required specifications.
• Work to agreed production and run times while maintaining high levels of quality.
• Work closely with colleagues to identify opportunities to improve production methods, efficiency and quality.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
• Work in accordance with company procedures and ISO 9001:2015 quality standards.

About you

• Strong experience programming, setting and operating CNC machine tools.
• Experience with Mazak CNC machinery is highly desirable.
• Experience working with CNC lathes, machining centres, or both.
• Experience working from detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
• Good understanding of metal cutting processes, tooling and machining conditions.
• Experience working within a quality-controlled manufacturing environment, ideally to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality components.
• Able to consistently meet required production set-up and run times.
• A positive, hands-on 'can do, will do attitude.
