Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD in Warminster, Wiltshire, are seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join a well-established precision engineering company. You will programme, set and operate CNC lathes, producing high‑quality components to strict drawings and customer specifications.

Join a close‑knit team of around 15 engineers, with opportunities for overtime, progression, and the use of modern CNC equipment. The role requires 3+ years of CNC experience and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years CNC machining experience and ability to programme, set and operate CNC lathes.
  • Experience using Fanuc controls is highly desirable.
  • CAD/CAM programming experience would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing.
  • Able to machine a variety of engineering materials and maintain tight tolerances.
  • Experience creating new CNC programmes from engineering drawings.
  • Jig and fixture manufacturing experience desirable.
  • Good understanding of quality standards in a precision engineering environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem solving.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

  • Programme, set and operate CNC lathes to manufacture precision components.
  • Produce accurate, high-quality components to engineering drawings and customer specifications.
  • Create new CNC programmes from customer drawings.
  • Plan production methods, selecting tooling, fixtures and machining strategies.
  • Carry out online and offline programming using Fanuc controls.
  • Make offsets and minor programme adjustments to maintain quality and optimise production.
  • Program and set machines to achieve efficient cycle times and maximise productivity.
  • Manufacture and modify jigs and fixtures where required.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Machine a variety of metals to tight tolerances.
  • Inspect and measure components to ensure quality standards.
  • Work to production schedules and deadlines.
  • Operate manual workshop machinery when required.
  • Adhere to AS9100 quality procedures and company standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of the engineering team.

Salary: Up to £40,000 - dependent on experience

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner to join a well-established precision engineering company based in Warminster. This is an excellent opportunity to join a close‑knit team of approximately 15 employees, manufacturing high‑precision components for a diverse range of industries.

Job Overview

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years’ CNC machining experience
  • Proven ability to programme, set and operate CNC lathes
  • Experience using Fanuc controls is highly desirable
  • CAD/CAM programming experience would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing
  • Experience machining a variety of engineering materials
  • Ability to manufacture components to tight tolerances
  • Experience creating new CNC programmes from engineering drawings
  • Jig and fixture manufacturing experience desirable

  • Aerospace machining experience advantageous but not essential

  • Full right to work in the UK
Hours of Work

Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 16:45
Friday: 07:30 – 12:30

Overtime:
Monday–Thursday 1.33×
Friday afternoon and Saturday 1.5×
