Position: CNC Turner
Location: Warminster, Wiltshire
Salary: Up to £40,000 - dependent on experience
We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner to join a well-established precision engineering company based in Warminster. This is an excellent opportunity to join a close‑knit team of approximately 15 employees, manufacturing high‑precision components for a diverse range of industries.
Job Overview
- Programme, set and operate CNC lathes to manufacture precision‑engineered components
- Produce accurate, high‑quality components to engineering drawings and customer specifications
- Create new CNC programmes from customer drawings
- Plan production methods, selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures and machining strategies
- Carry out online and offline programming using Fanuc controls
- Make offsets and minor programme adjustments to maintain component quality and optimise production
- Programme and set machines to achieve efficient cycle times and maximise productivity
- Manufacture and modify jigs and fixtures where required
- Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Machine a variety of metals to tight tolerances
- Inspect and measure components throughout production to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Work to production schedules and agreed deadlines
- Operate manual workshop machinery when required
- Adhere to AS9100 quality procedures and company manufacturing standards
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment
- Work effectively both independently and as part of the engineering team
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ CNC machining experience
- Proven ability to programme, set and operate CNC lathes
- Experience using Fanuc controls is highly desirable
- CAD/CAM programming experience would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing
- Experience machining a variety of engineering materials
- Ability to manufacture components to tight tolerances
- Experience creating new CNC programmes from engineering drawings
- Jig and fixture manufacturing experience desirable
- Good understanding of quality standards within a precision engineering environment
- Aerospace machining experience advantageous but not essential
- Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving ability
- Reliable, self‑motivated and capable of working independently
- Full right to work in the UK
Hours of Work
Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 16:45
Friday: 07:30 – 12:30
Overtime:
Monday–Thursday 1.33×
Friday afternoon and Saturday 1.5×
