Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd in Ely is seeking an experienced CNC Turner Programmer/Setter/Operator to join their precision engineering team. You will program, set and run CNC turning machines on high-spec components for aerospace and defence projects.

The role offers a permanent contract, PAYE rates up to £20 per hour, and a modern manufacturing environment with opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner.
• Ability to independently programme, set and operate CNC lathes.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and precision machining techniques.
• Experience producing complex components to tight tolerances.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines.
• Manufacturing precision-engineered components to tight tolerances.

• Carrying out in-process inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
• Making tooling and offset adjustments as required.

CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / OperatorLocation: Ely Salary: Up to £20.00 per hour PAYE Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

Our client is a well-established precision engineering company serving the Aerospace and Defence sectors. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator on a permanent basis to join their manufacturing team in Ely.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and steadily expanding business, producing high-precision components for demanding industries where quality, accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines.
• Manufacturing precision-engineered components to tight tolerances.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Carrying out in-process inspections to ensure quality standards are met.

Essential Requirements

Desirable Experience

• Experience with Matsuura, Haas or Doosan machines.
• Knowledge of Fanuc controls.
• Experience operating Twin-Spindle Lathes.
• Previous experience within the Aerospace or Defence industries.
