Polytec are seeking a skilled CNC Sliding Head Lathe Programmer/Operator to join our high-performance client, based in Ely. You'll play a critical role in the manufacture of precision components for both production and R&D by programming, setting up and operating CNC Sliding Head lathes.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate Sliding Head lathes (Fanuc controls)
• Interpret CAD/CAM drawings and machine to micron-level precision
• Troubleshoot and optimise machining processes
• Support quality checks, first-off production and continuous improvement
• Perform maintenance and share best practices within the team

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience working with CNC Sliding Head lathes
• Proficient in setup, programming, and operation of CNC equipment
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings
• Skilled in working to micron-level tolerances
• Experience with Fanuc controls
• Knowledge of SMED methodologies to minimise downtime
• Familiarity with multi-pallet machining, 3-axis milling, or Wire EDM (desirable)
