Job summary

Polytec Ltd. in Ely is seeking an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join the day shift team. Working 37.5 hours per week, you will load, set up and operate CNC machines to produce components from engineering drawings.

Experience with Fanuc controls is preferred; training can be provided. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently or in a team, and a commitment to quality. Salary is £15-£16 per hour depending on experience, with a standard day shift and permanent

Qualifications

• Experience operating Fanuc or similar CNC controls.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specs.
• Excellent attention to detail with commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Load, set up, and operate CNC machines per production requirements.
• Manufacture first-off components for inspection and approval before full production.
• Record and verify components against engineering drawings.
• Monitor machine performance to maximise efficiency and output.
• Identify and contribute to continuous improvement across processes.
• Carry out routine maintenance and basic servicing of equipment.
