Job summary

Polytec Ltd. in Ely is seeking an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join the day shift team. Working 37.5 hours per week, you will load, set up and operate CNC machines to produce components from engineering drawings.

Experience with Fanuc controls is preferred; training can be provided. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently or in a team, and a commitment to quality. Salary is £15-£16 per hour depending on experience, with a standard day shift and permanent

Responsibilities

• Load, set up, and operate CNC machines in accordance with production requirements
• Previous experience operating a Doosan Lynx CNC machine is advantageous but not essential, as training can be provided
• Manufacture first-off components for inspection and approval before commencing full production
• Maintain responsibility for quality control by recording and verifying components against engineering drawing specifications
• Monitor machine performance throughout production to maximise efficiency and output
• Identify and contribute to continuous improvement opportunities across manufacturing processes
• Read, interpret, and work accurately from engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Carry out routine maintenance and basic servicing of equipment and machinery within your area of responsibility, in line with your skills and training

Requirements
