Job Description:

CNC Programmer Setter Operator required for a plastic engineering company based in Biggleswade.

• Setting up and operating various machining centres
• Writing/editing and adjusting programs at the machine from drawings using Siemens 828d and ProtoTRAK controls
• Producing intricate components for use in quality critical markets
• In-process inspection using various hand measuring instruments
• General housekeeping duties to ensure a safe and clean working environment
• Process improvement to ensure output is efficient and cost-effective

Requirements:

• Experience working as a CNC Miller, Machinist, or Programmer in a high precision role
• Ability to understand and edit programmes (ISO or conversational)
• Willingness to undergo internal training and development to learn internal processes and machining strategies
• Experience creating part programs from solid models and drawings
• Desire to learn new skills
• Experience in a small batch environment
• Good PC skills (MS Word and Excel)
• Good interpersonal skills, teamwork, hands-on approach, and proactive attitude
• Experience using an ERP system for stock management (Sage 200 / MS Dynamics NAV)
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Salary dependent on experience: £30k-£35k.
