Job summary

Team Jobs - Engineering is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our Poole-based precision engineering team supporting high-spec aerospace and defence projects. The role focuses on hands-on NPI, process optimisation, and generating CNC programmes for 3, 4 and 5-axis machines.

You will create and prove programmes using CAD/CAM software, develop tooling strategies, and collaborate with Quality and Production to ensure robust process control and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or HNC/HND in mechanical, manufacturing or aerospace engineering.
• Proven experience in precision engineering environment, preferably aerospace/defence.
• Strong understanding of milling and turning processes.
• Experience generating CNC programmes for 3, 4 and 5-axis machines.

Responsibilities

• Create and prove CNC programmes using CAD/CAM software.
• Develop manufacturing processes, tooling strategies, and production routings.
• Produce setup sheets, tooling plans, and process documentation.
• Support new product introduction and process validation activities.
• Work with Quality and Production to ensure robust process control.
• Drive lean manufacturing initiatives, cost reduction projects, and productivity improvements.
• Support root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
