Qualifications

• Strong technical engineering background within a precision machining environment.
• Extensive knowledge of CNC machine capabilities and production processes.
• Multi-axis CNC machining experience.
• Experience setting work, selecting tooling and editing CNC programmes.
• Strong knowledge of tooling and its application.
• Experience machining complex precision components.
• Experience working with difficult-to-machine materials.
• Strong understanding of GD&T.
• Ability to self-inspect components and measure critical tolerances/features.
• Good understanding of CNC programming codes.
• Ability to coach and support machinists.
• Strong problem-solving and continuous-improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical engineering support to CNC machining and production teams.
• Support the introduction of new and existing products into manufacture.
• Identify and resolve engineering issues before and during production.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching and support to machinists.
• Improve machining processes to increase efficiency and machine utilisation.
• Support CNC programming and programme optimisation.
• Use CAD/CAM systems to support production requirements.
• Review tooling, manufacturing methods and machining processes.
• Carry out gap analysis and support ERP updates.
• Apply structured problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with Production, Operations and Planning to resolve bottlenecks.
• Support familiarisation and technical training where required.
