Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on work ethic.
• Time-served apprenticeship or relevant technical qualification is advantageous.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented CNC Milling Operator / Setter to join a busy, well-established precision engineering workshop based in Northampton.

Working primarily within our CNC milling section, you will play a key role in producing high-quality precision components for a variety of demanding engineering sectors. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on machinist looking to grow with a forward-thinking manufacturing company.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling machines (experience with 3, 4, or 5-axis machinery is highly desirable)
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Perform rigorous quality checks using standard measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.
• Monitor tool wear and troubleshoot machining or process issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment in line with company health and safety standards.
