Job summary

Reed is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer, Setter and Operator to join a growing manufacturing team in the UK. The role involves programming, setting and operating Sliding Head CNC machines with Mazak equipment and Fanuc controls to produce high-precision components.

You will read engineering drawings, perform quality inspections, and collaborate with engineering and production to meet schedules. An ideal candidate has strong experience in turning and milling, lean manufacturing awareness,

Qualifications

• Experience in Sliding Head CNC machining.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Proven experience with Mazak machinery and Fanuc controls.

Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate CNC machinery to produce precision-engineered components.
• Work with Sliding Head CNC machines and Mazak machining centres.
• Utilise Fanuc control systems to create and modify programmes as required.
• Operate and set CNC lathes and CNC vertical milling machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure components meet tolerances and customer requirements.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and tooling changes.
• Assist with process improvements to maximise efficiency and productivity.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to deliver work to schedule.

The successful candidate will have strong experience working with Sliding Head CNC machines , Mazak equipment , and Fanuc controls , with the ability to programme, set, and operate machinery to produce high-quality precision components.

Key Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate CNC machinery to produce precision-engineered components.
• Work with Sliding Head CNC machines and Mazak machining centres.

• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Desirable Experience

• Experience using CAD software.
