Job summary

Acorn by Synergy is recruiting an experienced CNC Lathe Setter Operator to join its Portsmouth manufacturing team. You will set, prove out and operate CNC/NC lathes, producing precision components to exact specifications in a life sciences oriented environment.

You will read engineering drawings, program and adjust machines using Fanuc controls, and perform self-inspection with precision measuring equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating CNC/NC lathes.
• Ability to prove out CNC programmes.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc or similar controls.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Competence in self-inspection and measurement using equipment.
• Experience machining stainless steel components.
• Good communication and collaboration across departments.
• Flexible and proactive approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC/NC lathe machinery.
• Prove out new and existing CNC programmes.
• Programme and set machines using Fanuc or similar controls.
• Manufacture precision components to engineering specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Carry out self-inspection using measuring equipment.
• Record production activities accurately within internal scheduling systems.
• Report production issues to Team Leaders.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards through daily 5S activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the machine shop.

Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Lathe Setter Operator to join a leading global manufacturer within the Life Sciences sector based in Portsmouth.

Working Hours

• 37.5 hours per week.
• Rotating shift pattern:
  • Week 1: 6am-2pm.
  • Week 2: 2pm-10pm.
