Job summary

ABS Talent Ltd in Stockport is seeking a CNC Miller – Setter/Operator to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing company. You will set up and run CNC milling machines, producing precision components to tight tolerances and reading engineering drawings in a busy shop floor environment.

The role offers a permanent day-shift schedule (Mon-Fri) with overtime paid at time and a half. Mazak controls are preferred, but other controls are welcome.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC Miller – Setter/Operator.
• Mazak controls experience preferred.
• Able to read engineering drawings.
• Reliable, quality-focused and a good team player.
• Comfortable working to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC milling machines.
• Produce precision components to engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
• Tooling selection, offsets and in-process checks.
• Quality inspection of your own work to required standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.

CNC Miller — Setter/Operator (Stockport)

Location: Stockport, Cheshire

Job type: Permanent, full-time

Salary: £17-£18 a hour

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm (39 hours/week)

ABS Talent is recruiting a CNC Miller (Setter/Operator) on behalf of a well-established engineering and manufacturing company in Stockport. The business designs and manufactures specialist products for the logistics and supply-chain sector, with a long-standing reputation for engineering excellence — and they're looking to add a skilled miller to their team.

The role

• Setting and operating CNC milling machines
• Producing precision components to engineering drawings and tight tolerances
• Tooling selection, offsets and in-process checks
• Quality inspection of your own work to required standards
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area

About you

• Experience as a CNC Miller — Setter/Operator
• Mazak controls preferred — but experience on other controls is welcome (Fanuc, Siemens, etc.)
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Comfortable working to tight tolerances
• Reliable, quality-focused and a good team player

Hours & overtime

• Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm (39 hours/week)
• Overtime paid at time and a half
