Job summary

Trident Recruitment Ltd in Romford is seeking an experienced CNC Miller Setter/Operator. You will set and operate high-precision CNC mills, including 5-axis machines, ensuring first-off parts meet exacting specifications.

Next to setting and proving complex offsets, you will interpret drawings, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and support colleagues with practical machining knowledge. Day and night shifts are available in a busy precision engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience setting and operating CNC milling machines in precision engineering.
• Aerospace manufacturing background with meticulous quality.
• Confident with Fanuc controls.
• Strong grasp of 4- and 5-axis machining, datum setting and offset management.
• Familiar with Matsuura, Haas and Mori Seiki equipment.
• Practical trouble-shooting mindset and dependable attitude.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC milling centres to machined parts to spec.
• Manage complex offsets and datum positions on 4/5-axis work.
• Read engineering drawings and uphold stringent quality standards.
• Monitor machining performance, identify faults and resolve setting/operating issues.
• Share practical machining knowledge with colleagues.

Trident Recruitment is recruiting a CNC Miller Setter / Operator for an established precision engineering business in Romford.

This opportunity would suit a capable machinist who takes pride in producing accurate components and enjoys working with a range of advanced machining equipment. Day and night shift opportunities are available.

The role

You will set and operate CNC machining centres, including Matsuura 5-axis machines, Mori Seiki horizontal machining centres and Haas VMCs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting machines accurately and efficiently to achieve a correct first-off component.
• Managing complex offsets and multiple datum positions across 4 and 5-axis machining work.
• Working from engineering drawings and maintaining demanding quality standards.
• Monitoring machining performance, identifying faults and resolving setting or operating issues.
• Supporting colleagues and sharing practical machining knowledge.

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience setting and operating CNC milling machines within precision engineering.
• An aerospace manufacturing background and a thorough approach to accuracy and quality.
• Confident use of Fanuc controls.
