Adore Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a UK aerospace & defence precision engineering business in Romford, Essex to recruit a skilled CNC Miller/Setter-Operator. The role focuses on 4- and 5-axis machining across Matsuura, Mori Seiki and Haas machinery, with opportunities to advance skills within a seasoned team.

You will set and run complex milling work, interpret engineering drawings, and maintain high quality and accuracy standards for critical components.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller / CNC Setter-Operator.
• Strong CNC milling experience.
• Experience with 4- and 5-axis machining.
• Confident with multidatum setting and complex offsets.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls.
• Experience with Matsuura, Haas and/or Mori Seiki machinery.
• Ability to set machines right first time.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and inspection.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate Matsuura 5-axis machining centres.
• Set and operate MoriSeiki horizontal machining centres.
• Set and operate Haas VMCs.
• Work across 4 and 5-axis machining.
• Carry out complex machine setups and changeovers.

We re partnered with an established aerospace and defence precision engineering business based in Romford, manufacturing high-quality, complex components for a growing order book.

Due to continued growth, they re looking for an experienced CNC Miller / Setter-Operator to join their established machining team.

This is a hands-on precision machining role for someone who understands CNC milling, can confidently set machines right first time and takes real pride in producing components to exacting aerospace standards.

You ll be working across Matsuura 5-axis machining centres, Mori-Seiki horizontal machining centres and Haas VMCs, with genuine scope to develop your skills and share knowledge within an experienced engineering team.

The Role

You ll be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machinery, producing precision aerospace and defence components while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy and consistency.

What You ll Be Doing

• Setting and operating Matsuura 5axis machining centres
• Setting and operating MoriSeiki horizontal machining centres
• Setting and operating Haas VMCs
• Working across 4 and 5axis machining
• Carrying out complex machine setups and changeovers

What We re Looking For

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller / CNC SetterOperator

• Experience with 4 and 5axis machining

• Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls
• Experience with Matsuura, Haas and/or MoriSeiki machinery
• Ability to set machines right first time
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and inspection
• Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving ability
• Aerospace or defence manufacturing experience would be highly advantageous
• An ONC / HND in Production or Mechanical Engineering, equivalent qualification or a completed manufacturing apprenticeship would be advantageous.
