Job summary

Actio Recruitment is seeking an experienced CNC Miller Programmer / Setter / Operator for a well-established precision engineering company in the Derby area. You will program, set and operate CNC milling machines producing high-quality components in low-volume and small batches.

The role offers a 4-day week, permanent placement, and a competitive hourly rate of £18–£22 depending on experience. Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls and ability to read drawings are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as CNC Miller Programmer/Setter/Operator.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls.
• Experience programming at the machine.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience in a subcontract manufacturing environment.
• Competent with measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls.
• Manufacturing precision components to customer specifications and engineering drawings.
• Producing low-batch and one-off components for a variety of industries.
• Selecting tooling and optimising machining processes.
• Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections.
• Ensuring components are manufactured to the highest quality standards.

Hours: Monday to Thursday (4-Day Week)

Due to continued growth and a strong workload, our client is seeking an experienced CNC Miller Programmer / Setter / Operator to join their team. Working within a busy machine shop, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines producing high-quality precision components in low-volume and small batch quantities.

Key Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls
• Manufacturing precision components to customer specifications and engineering drawings
• Producing low-batch and one-off components for a variety of industries
