Job summary

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced CNC Miller to program, set and operate milling machines in a precision engineering environment in Nottingham. You will produce high-precision components from detailed drawings and select proper tooling and fixtures.

The role requires fluency in reading engineering drawings, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to meet quality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines.
• Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail with a quality-focused approach.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and machine controls such as Haas, Hurco, Mazak, Fanuc or Matsuura would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC milling machines.
• Create, edit and optimize CNC programmes to improve machining efficiency.
• Manufacture one-off and batch components from engineering drawings.
• Select the correct tooling, fixtures and workholding for each job.
• Carry out tool changes and make machine offsets where required.
• Inspect finished components using micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and height gauges.
• Complete first-off inspections and ensure components meet quality standards.
• Identify process improvements to reduce cycle times and increase productivity.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment.

Hours: 39 hours per week, rotating morning & afternoon shifts

Pay: £38,532 per annum / £19 per hour

Key Responsibilities

About You

• The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings

• Experience with CAD/CAM software and machine controls such as Haas, Hurco, Mazak, Fanuc or Matsuura would be highly advantegous, as would an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
