Workforce Staffing is seeking a skilled CNC Miller Programmer near Milton Keynes to program, set up, and operate vertical and horizontal machining centres. You will handle precision components to tight tolerances and work with a range of machines using Fanuc or similar controls.

The role requires interpreting detailed drawings, selecting tooling, and optimising cycles. You will contribute to a clean, safe workshop and collaborate with production to meet deadlines.

Location: Near Milton Keynes
Hours: Monday to Friday 7.30am – 4pm (overtime available)

Role Overview

The CNC Miller Programmer will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating Vertical & Horizontal Machining Centres to produce precision-engineered components to tight tolerances. You will work across our wide range ofmachines, programming with Fanuc and similar controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Select appropriate tooling and machining strategies for efficient production.
• Produce precision components to tight tolerances and within quality standards.
• Carry out first-off inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Optimise CNC programs and setups to improve cycle times and reduce waste.
• Work collaboratively with production staff to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
• Maintain machines, tooling, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience programming and setting machining centres
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls (or similar).
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments.
• Experience producing small to medium batch quantities.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM software (Edgecam, Fusion 360, etc.).
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
