Job summary

Accept Recruitment is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer Miller in Nottinghamshire to program and optimise 5-axis CNC components for high-spec manufacturing.

You will develop machining strategies, tooling solutions and continuous improvement initiatives using CAD/CAM software, with opportunities across aerospace, automotive and precision sectors.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming 5-axis CNC machines.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software (OPENMIND / HYPERMILL).
• Strong background machining hard and soft metals.
• Experience with offline CNC programming for 3 and 5 axis machines.
• Good understanding of quality standards and production control.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise 5 axis CNC programmes for intricate components.
• Create and refine CNC programmes offline using CAD/CAM software (OPENMIND / HYPERMILL).
• Produce accurate CAD models to support manufacturing processes.
• Design jigs and fixtures to improve machining efficiency.
• Manage programme distribution and control via DNC systems.
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production and management teams.
• Contribute to new product introduction (NPI) and short-term engineering projects.

Location: Nottinghamshire, East Midlands

Salary: £40,000 to £45,000+ (dependent on experience and will consider higher) + Benefits

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Hours: 39 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 07:30-16:30, Friday 07:30-12:30

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled 5 Axis CNC Programmer to join a well-established precision engineering and advanced manufacturing organisation. This is a fantastic chance to work on complex, high-spec components across a range of demanding industries.

You’ll play a key role in developing machining strategies, tooling solutions and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced production environment, using advanced CAD/CAM software to programme and optimise components for 5 axis machining.

We’d also love to hear from candidates with backgrounds as a CNC Machinist, CAD/CAM Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, CNC Miller or Production Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise 5 axis CNC programmes for intricate components

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience programming 5 axis CNC machines
• Experience with CAD/CAM software, ideally OPENMIND / HYPERMILL
• Strong background machining hard and soft metals
• Experience with offline CNC programming for 3 and 5 axis machines
• Good understanding of quality standards and production control

Desirable

• Experience in CNC mill-turn operations
• Knowledge of aerospace, nuclear, medical, automotive or motorsport sectors
• Understanding of AS9100 or EASA Part 21(G) standards
• Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques
• Familiarity with automation, robotics or 3D printing
• Understanding of NPI processes
