Job summary

Actio Recruitment Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering company in Nottingham for an experienced CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator to join their growing team.

You will program, set and operate CNC milling machines, using Fanuc or Heidenhain controls, reading drawings and selecting tooling. The role offers a permanent day shift and a negotiable salary based on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator.
• Able to program, set and operate independently.
• Experience in precision engineering environment.
• Strong reading of engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Familiar with inspection equipment (micrometers, verniers).

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC milling machines.
• Online programming using Fanuc, Heidenhain or similar controls.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.

• Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines.
• Online programming using Fanuc, Heidenhain or similar controls.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Selecting appropriate tooling and cutting strategies.
• Performing first-off and in-process inspection using measuring equipment.
• Working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
• Assisting with continuous improvement and process optimisation.

The Candidate

• Previous experience as a CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator.
• Ability to program, set and operate independently.
• Experience working within a precision engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
• Competent using inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges.
• Positive attitude with excellent attention to detail.
