Job summary

Employment Solutions Ltd is currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller / CNC Machinist to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business on a permanent night shift in Preston. The role focuses on setting and operating CNC milling machines on a 4-night week, with a night rate.

There is no programming required; you will work mainly with 5-axis machining, reading engineering drawings, and ensuring tolerances using appropriate measuring equipment, Mazak and Hurco machinery,

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
• Preferably 5-axis machining experience.
• Time-served or apprentice-trained in precision engineering.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision components.
• Read engineering drawings and ensure tolerances.

CNC Miller / CNC Machinist - Nights

Location: Preston

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:30pm - 7:30am

Basic Rate: 17.00 per hour

Night Shift Rate: 22.61 per hour including 33% shift allowance

Shift: Permanent Nights - 4 Night Week

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller / CNC Machinist to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business on their permanent night shift.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced machinist looking for a 4-night working week, Monday to Thursday.

The Role

You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines, producing precision-engineered components to the required specifications and quality standards.

There is NO programming required for this position.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Setting and operating CNC milling machines
• Working predominantly with 5-axis machining
• Producing precision components from engineering drawings
• Carrying out machine set-ups and tool changes
• Checking components using appropriate measuring equipment
• Ensuring finished components meet required tolerances
• Working with machinery including Mazak and Hurco
• Maintaining high standards of quality and safety

What We're Looking For

The successful CNC machinist will:

• Have previous CNC milling experience
• Ideally have experience with 5-axis machining
• Be confident setting and operating CNC machinery
• Be able to read and understand engineering drawings
• Have a good understanding of engineering tolerances
• Ideally be time-served or apprentice-trained
• Have previous experience within a precision engineering/manufacturing environment
• Be comfortable working permanent nights

You do NOT need CNC programming experience - this is a setting and operating position.

Hours & Pay

Monday - Thursday

9:30pm - 7:30am

17.00 per hour basic rate

+ 33% night shift allowance

22.61 per hour total night rate
