Adecco is recruiting a skilled CNC Miller for a thriving precision engineering team in County Durham. You will program, set up and operate CNC milling centres to produce high‑precision components from metal to drawing specifications.

The role offers regular overtime, various shifts, and clear career progression within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. A strong candidate will have apprentice‑trained background or proven CNC milling experience and a sharp eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC milling centres.

• Troubleshoot machining or program issues.

CNC Miller - Join a Thriving Precision Engineering Team!

Location: County Durham

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 DOE + Overtime

Shifts: Various shift patterns available

Our client, a well‑established and rapidly growing player in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a skilled CNC Miller to enhance their engineering team.

The Role

As a CNC Miller, you will play a vital role in producing high‑precision components from a variety of metal materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Programming, setting, and operating CNC machining centres.
• Producing precision components according to engineering drawings and customer specifications.
• Creating and modifying CNC programmes for both new and existing products.
• Setting tooling, work offsets, and machine parameters to ensure the highest quality output.
• Conducting first‑off and in‑process inspections to guarantee tight tolerances are met.
• Troubleshooting and resolving any machining or programme‑related issues.
• Actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives to optimise machine performance.
• Adhering to health, safety, and quality procedures at all times.

Essential Requirements

To thrive in this role, candidates should possess:

• An experienced CNC Miller or be an Apprentice‑Trained Engineer.
• Demonstrable experience in programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines.
• The ability to machine complex metal components to demanding tolerances.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with a variety of precision measuring equipment.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• The capability to excel in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Desirable Attributes

While not essential, the following will enhance your application:

• Experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain, or similar controls.
• CAD/CAM programming experience.
• Previous exposure to precision engineering manufacturing environments.
• A background in machining various materials.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
