Job summary

Moog Aircraft Group in Wolverhampton is looking for an apprentice-trained, experienced CNC Setter Operator (Mill/Turn). You will set up and operate multiple CNC machines, perform first-off inspections, and document quality records with precision across multi-axis machining environments.

Applicants should have a recognised engineering apprenticeship, aerospace experience, and strong attention to detail. The role may shift between day patterns and requires BPSS clearance where applicable.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship.
• Previous experience in an engineering/manufacturing role, ideally within the aerospace industry.
• Strong knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling.
• Proven skills in a multi-axis/complex machining environment.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and process improvement techniques.
• Proficiency in using relevant inspection techniques/equipment to achieve drawing tolerances.
• Experience on different mill/turn CNC machines (Okuma, Mazak, Lathe, DMG, Matsura, Puma)

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multiple CNC machines/processes.
• Perform first-off inspections and complete necessary quality documentation.
• Carry out own 1st off inspection and check/complete the necessary quality documentation.
• Proven experience in a machine shop environment.
• Competent in setting up and using machine tools.
