Industry Resource Services Ltd in Lowestoft invites an experienced Engineering Craftsperson to join our established engineering team. The role covers manual and CNC machining with emphasis on grinding, turning and milling, reading drawings and achieving tight tolerances.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on machining experience, good measurement skills and a practical, methodical approach. Grinding or CNC experience is a strong plus.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Craftsperson to join an established engineering environment in Lowestoft area.

We are looking for a practical, hands‑on engineering professional with a background in machining, fitting or precision engineering, with particular interest in candidates who have experience of grinding operations.

This is a permanent position offering varied engineering work across both manual and CNC machining, providing an opportunity to utilise and further develop your machining and precision engineering skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating manual and CNC machinery
• Turning and milling operations
• Internal and external grinding
• Working accurately from engineering drawings and specifications
• Measuring and inspecting completed components
• Ensuring components are produced to the required tolerances and quality standards
• Carrying out general engineering and machining duties as required
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment

About You

We would be interested in hearing from candidates with previous experience within engineering, machining, mechanical fitting or a similar manufacturing environment.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous engineering or machining experience
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• A good understanding of engineering tolerances and measurement
• Experience using inspection and measuring equipment
• A practical, methodical approach to your work
• Good attention to detail

Previous grinding and/or CNC machining experience would be highly advantageous, although candidates with strong transferable engineering skills are also encouraged to apply.
