• Apprenticeship in engineering or Level 3 NVQ/City & Guilds desirable.
• Experience producing precision milled components from composite, aluminium and plastics.
• Confident, independent operation of Fanuc/Haas controlled machines.
• Ability to complete quality documentation and communicate with supervisors.
• Understanding of M and G codes.
• Understand basic measurement principles.
• Understanding of basic quality & process principles.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for CNC Miller to work for engineering manufacturing business based in Gloucester. The appropriate candidate would be responsible for machining precision parts for aerospace sector.

You will be working as part of a wider team to undertake a variety of CNC duties and produce a wide range of precision components for many industries including automotive (F1), aerospace, military & transport., Set and operate Haas/Fanuc-controlled CNC machines

• Working from Technical Drawings
• Installing the correct programmes into the machine
• Prepare and load materials and components
• Working to specific tolerances ensuring these are accurate for each operation
• Inspect and measure finished components, recording results using in-process inspection sheets
• Fulfil daily responsibilities using our ERP system. (IFS)
• Reporting any issues to their Supervisor/Manager

Requirements of CNC setter

• You must have experience of setting and operating CNC machines - routers and/or milling machines
• Completed relevant apprenticeship in engineering or a minimum of Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in the relevant field is desirable
• Experience producing precision milled components from a variety of materials, mainly composite, aluminium & plastics.
• Confident, independent operation of Fanuc/Haas controlled machines
• Ability to complete ongoing quality documentation, maintaining communication with supervisors and quality operatives
• Understanding use of M and G codes
• Understand basic measurement principles
• Understanding of basic quality & process principles
