Job summary

Pertemps North Midlands is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our busy manufacturing team, producing precision parts for automotive, construction and marine sectors. You will set and operate CNC turning/lathe machines, read engineering drawings and adjust tooling and offsets to ensure high-quality components.

The role offers a four-day week and a clear path from temporary to permanent employment, with opportunities to develop skills and progress in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

We are currently looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our busy and growing manufacturing team, producing precision parts for a wide range of industries including automotive / construction / marine.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC machinist who is confident with machine setting, tool changes, offsets and basic programming, and who takes pride in producing high-quality, accurate components.

The Role

• Setting and operating CNC turning / lathe machines


• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings


• Selecting and setting appropriate tooling


• Adjusting tool offsets and machine settings


• Carrying out basic CNC programme edits


• Inspecting finished components using appropriate measuring equipment


• Maintaining quality and production standards


• Working safely and keeping the work area clean and organised

About You

We are looking for someone with previous experience in a CNC turning environment who can confidently set and operate machines with minimal supervision. You should have a good understanding of engineering drawings, machining processes, tooling and dimensional inspection. The company use XYZ controls, but if you are a confident programmer on other software types, this will still be considered.

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday

Rate of pay: £18-£21 range if you are a semi-skilled setter operators from day one

Experience with CNC programming or programme editing would be advantageous, although basic programming skills are sufficient.
