Working within a modern manufacturing environment, the company produces high-precision machined components for a range of demanding industries. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable business where quality is at the forefront of the manufacturing process.

The Role

As a CMM Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision machined components, ensuring products meet customer specifications and quality standards. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with components and inspection equipment rather than purely documentation-based quality activities.

  • Operate and programme CMM equipment.

  • Inspect components using a range of conventional and optical measuring equipment.

  • Interpret engineering drawings, geometric tolerances (GD&T) and customer specifications.

  • Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and inspection documentation.

  • Identify non-conformances and work with Production to resolve quality issues.

  • Support root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure inspection records are completed accurately and maintained in line with company procedures.

  • Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and health & safety.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have previous inspection experience within a precision engineering or CNC machining environment and be confident working with both CMM and conventional inspection equipment.

You should have:

  • Previous experience as an Inspector, Quality Inspector or Inspection Engineer.

  • Experience operating CMM equipment, with programming experience highly desirable.

  • Experience inspecting precision CNC milled and turned components.

  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

  • Experience using a wide range of precision measuring equipment.

  • Knowledge of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and quality documentation.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with Production and Engineering teams.

Package

  • £36,000 - £40,000 per annum.

  • Company pension.

  • Employee mentoring programme.

  • Free on-site parking.

  • Good transport links.

  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.

  • Modern and professional working environment.
