Job summary

Elevation People Solutions is recruiting an experienced CMM Quality Inspector with a strong programming background to join a precision engineering environment in Leeds.

This hands‑on role requires you to own inspection processes, program and operate Mitutoyo MCOSMOS CMMs, read complex drawings and GD&T, perform first‑off, in‑process and final inspections, and report findings to support continuous improvement with production and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CMM Programmer/Quality Inspector.
• Strong knowledge of MCOSMOS (Mitutoyo CMM) is essential.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience in precision engineering or regulated industries (medical device advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CMM equipment (Mitutoyo) using MCOSMOS software.
• Develop and implement pre-programmed inspection routines.
• Carry out first-off, in-process, and final inspections.
• Perform manual inspection using standard metrology equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
• Produce accurate inspection reports and maintain quality records.
• Support non-conformance investigations and root cause analysis.
• Assist with calibration of inspection equipment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities within quality processes.
• Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams.

The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced CMM Quality Inspector with a strong programming background to join a precision engineering environment.

This is a hands‑on role where you’ll take ownership of inspection processes, working closely with production and engineering teams to ensure components meet strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Program and operate CMM equipment (Mitutoyo) using MCOSMOS software
• Develop and implement pre-programmed inspection routines
• Carry out first-off, in-process, and final inspections
• Perform manual inspection using standard metrology equipment
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements
• Produce accurate inspection reports and maintain quality records

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector
• Strong knowledge of MCOSMOS (Mitutoyo CMM experience essential)

• Experience within precision engineering or regulated industries (medical device advantageous)
• Skilled in manual inspection techniques and measurement tools
• Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 13485 or ISO 9001
• Experience with quality documentation (FAIRs, NCRs, CAPA, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
• Good communication skills and team-focused approach
