Job summary
Central Employment is seeking a skilled CMM Operator / Inspector in Newcastle upon Tyne to join a precision engineering quality team. You will program and operate CMMs using MCOSMOS, perform dimensional inspections, and ensure components meet drawings and customer specs.
Flexibility for additional hours is required to support product timelines. Ideal candidates have strong metrology expertise, experience with GD&T, and a proactive approach to quality improvement within a manufacturing
Qualifications
- Experience using CMMs in precision engineering environments.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and drawing interpretation.
- Proficiency with MCOSMOS for programming and inspection.
Responsibilities
- Program and operate CMM equipment.
- Perform dimensional inspections to verify tolerances.
- Record and report inspection results accurately and on time.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and surface finishes.
- Identify and investigate non-conformances and quality issues.
- Maintain inspection records following quality systems.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams.
