Job summary

smart manufacturing solutions, on behalf of a Gateshead-based engineering and manufacturing client, seeks an experienced CMM Operator to join the team. You will program and operate CMMs, inspect components, and ensure conformance to drawings and specs.

The role requires proficiency in MCOSMOS/ZEISS CALYPSO, strong measurement skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams; overtime may be required to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CMM Operator/CMM Programmer in a manufacturing/engineering setting.
• Proficient in MCOSMOS CMM software.
• Experience with offline CMM programming advantageous.
• Strong ability to inspect using manual measuring equipment.
• Excellent understanding of drawings, tolerances and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CMMs using ZEISS CALYPSO/MCOSMOS software.
• Carry out accurate dimensional inspection of components per specifications.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Review and verify inspection reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Identify and report non-conformances or deviations from requirements.
• Maintain inspection records and documentation.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve issues.
• Support development and improvement of inspection methods and processes.
• Ensure inspection equipment is maintained and used correctly.
• Adhere to company quality standards and customer requirements.
