The Workshop in Southampton, United Kingdom, is seeking a skilled CMM Inspector to verify components against engineering drawings and tolerances. You will support production, run inspection programs, and ensure accuracy and efficiency across inspection activities.

In this role you will review GD&T, use CMM software, perform first-off and in-process inspections, and maintain precise records. The position offers flexible hours and Friday early finish in a well-established precision engineering

Formación

• Experience in a CMM Inspector role.
• Proficiency with CMM software for inspection programs.
• Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.

As a CMM Inspector, you'll ensure components meet engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances. You'll play a key role in maintaining quality standards, supporting production and ensuring inspection activities are completed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect components using CMM equipment and manual inspection methods.
• Create, adjust and prove out CMM inspection programs.
• Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections.
• Evaluate components against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, reports and quality documentation.
• Identify non-conforming products and support corrective actions.
• Review supplier documentation and complete manual inspections.
• Work closely with Quality and Production teams to resolve issues and minimise delays.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a CMM Inspector or similar inspection role.
• Proficiency in CMM software for creating inspection programs.
• Strong understanding of CMM best practice and inspection techniques.
• In-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications.
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Competence in IT software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Recognised CMM training or programmer/operator training.
