Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd in Loughborough is seeking an experienced Senior CNC Milling Team Leader to head and develop a skilled milling department. You will program, set and operate multi-axis CNC mills, lead a small team and drive continuous improvement in a precision engineering environment.

You will work with Fanuc and Heidenhain controls, read complex drawings with GD&T, and collaborate with production and engineering to meet tight delivery deadlines while maintaining high quality and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Extensive CNC milling experience within a precision engineering environment.
• Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines.
• Strong CAD/CAM programming knowledge.
• Advanced knowledge of Fanuc and Heidenhain controls.
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience within manufacturing.
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
• Excellent communication and team management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the CNC milling team to achieve production targets and maintain quality standards.
• Create, modify and optimise CNC programmes using CAD/CAM software.
• Programme, set and operate CNC milling machines using Fanuc and Heidenhain controls.
• Plan and oversee complex machining operations, including multi-axis milling.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting and fault-finding expertise.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and GD&T requirements.
• Ensure components meet customer specifications and tight tolerances.
• Support the training and development of operators, setters and programmers.
• Work closely with production, engineering and management teams to meet delivery deadlines.

Job Role: CNC Milling Team Leader

Location: Loughborough

Shift: Monday-Thursday: 7:00am-4:00pm, Friday: 7:00am-1:00pm

Pay Rate: £20.00 - £21.00 per hour, depending on experience
