Job summary

Lighthouse Hotel Management is seeking a Cluster Financial Controller to oversee the Northern Cluster (Manchester and 2 Liverpool hotels) and influence financial performance across the group.

Reporting to the Head of Finance Operations, you will manage monthly planning/forecasting, month-end processes, and balance sheets while leading on-site finance teams and ensuring robust internal controls. Hybrid working and regular property travel are involved.

Qualifications

• Experience as a multi-site FC or a single-site FC in a large hotel.
• Excellent communications skills and ability to train and manage on-site teams.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and drive efficiencies.
• Planning and forecasting experience required.
• Willingness to travel regularly to properties.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end processes for each hotel and ensure deadlines are met.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting and finance activities across the cluster.
• Maintain balance sheets and reconciliations; ensure strong internal controls.
• Work with hotel teams to improve financial performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Head of Finance Operations and Lighthouse Hotel Management Team.

The Exciting Opportunity

We are recruiting for the position of Cluster Financial Controller to join the multi-talented Lighthouse Hotel Management team. The role will directly contribute to the ongoing success, growth and development of the group by influencing and improving financial performance and efficiency for each of the hotels within the Northern Cluster (Manchester and 2 * Liverpool).

Reporting to the Head of Finance Operations you will be involved with monthly planning and forecasting, alongside the General Managers and hotel teams. You will perform the month-end process for each hotel ensuring deadlines are met. You will be responsible for the day-to-day efficient running of the hotels accounting and finance processes as well as overseeing the work of the on-site finance assistants. You will work with the hotel operational teams to ensure internal financial controls, processes and procedures are followed. You will maintain accurate balance sheets and other reconciliations, as necessary and will be an instrumental part of the Lighthouse Hotel Management Team.

This role would suit an experienced multi-property Financial Controller looking to gain some brand experience or an established single site financial controller looking for their next career step and a move into a multi-property role.

What Are We Looking For?

• Will be an experienced multi-site FC or an experienced single-site FC in a large hotel, with the ability to multitask and manage a team effectively
• Will have excellent communications skills and ability to train and manage the on-site teams

Where Will You Be Working?

• The role will offer hybrid working including a mixture of home, hotel and office-based working. The group head office is based in Hillington, Glasgow and hotels within the cluster are UK based; Manchester and Liverpool.
• The hotels are managed by Lighthouse Hotel Management, which is the operational arm of the Molo Hotel Group. The group currently has nine trading hotels, seven situated in the UK and two in the Caribbean. A further two hotels are under construction and various other purchase transactions are underway. Molo Hotel Group plans to add many more hotels not just in the UK but in other key destinations in Europe and the world.
