Job summary

Fraser Hospitality is seeking a Hotel Financial Controller to lead day-to-day accounting and financial operations for Fraser Suites Glasgow and Fraser Place Canary Wharf. You will produce accurate monthly P&Ls, balance sheets, and provide support to on-site managers to meet tight deadlines.

The role requires hotel finance experience, the ability to manage multiple properties, and strong communication with non-financial stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience of accountancy and finance for a hotel operation is essential.
• Experience of supporting multiple hotels in a finance capacity is beneficial.
• Suitable for a part qualified accountant.
• Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Disciplined and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

About The Role

ROLE: Hotel Financial Controller

SALARY: Competitive Salary

LOCATION: Fraser Place Canary Wharf & Fraser Suites Glasgow

Fraser Hospitality are looking for a Cluster Financial Controller. Based from Fraser Suites Glasgow, or Fraser Place Canary Wharf, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting, financial operations and provides support to operational managers across the properties. You will also be responsible for producing and submitting accurate monthly P&Ls and Balance Sheets for the hotels in-line with the tight monthly deadlines.

What you will be doing

• Day to day financial reporting and operational duties
• Ensure compliance with internal policies & procedures
• Review of cash banking & safeguarding of cash floats in operation
• Producing bank reconciliations and bank clearing
• Support junior Finance staff within the hotel
• Coordinate accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Preparation of monthly financial statements, forecasting and commentary on variance
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliation and preparation of audit pack
• Analyse & interpret of monthly results, key performance indicators and cost control by department.
• Assist Senior Management Accountant and General Managers with annual budgets
• Prepare P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reports for corporate reporting to strict deadlines
• Assist with property audit – internal and external, and other consultants and bank
• Work with other finance team and share best practices
• Prepare, submit and settle VAT returns and City tax returns within required deadline

What we’re looking for:

• Experience of accountancy and finance for a hotel operation is essential
• Experience of supporting multiple hotels in a finance capacity is beneficial
• This role is suitable for a part qualified accountant
• Proven capability to communicate Financial Information to various stakeholders, especially with non-financial background
• An eye for detail and the ability to identify errors and offer workable solutions
• Strong systems skills with a mindset of continuous improvement
• Personable, positive, dynamic professional who works flexibly and collaboratively to achieve deadlines, with “a can get job” done attitude
• A disciplined approach to production and documentation of work
